Gridiron Gang Poster

For my students last Saturday at their Comprehensive Exam, one objected against the words “It’s hard being a loser.” I was stunned when I read the quote I have written above the instructions for the examination realizing that they were downhearted by these words. So I have to explain that this only means that in life, you have to prove your worth by at first admitting yourself your own weaknesses. Secondly, a certain passage in Don Bosco’s life featured the same teenage boys who have the same fate. Lastly, this came from a teenage gangster in the film called Gridiron Gang.

In the film, gangsters rule the neighborhood as bloodshed became a common teenage everyday life. As being minors, they were sentenced for detention centers where they spend some time of service to the government. As this is the case, we couldn’t avoid that the same gangsters finds each other again inside these cells.

Now, this is really a film about a football game + combination of rookie + ramblings gangsters + guns and roses + The Rock Factor = a very different kind of football game that doesn’t focus on who wins or loses but in the lessons it wants to impart in its audience. Based on a true story of the Mustangs’, this film showcases how to make a difference to a group of teenagers by emphasizing team work in the field of football.
